Safety, Health and Environment Coordinator E&P

Repsol YPF, one of Spain’s largest companies, is involved in all aspects of the energy business and is aggressively expanding its exploration and production division. Our E&P activities are focused in Latin America, North Africa, F.S.U. and Middle East. 

Responsibilities:

The main responsibility will be to facilitate and ensure the effective implementation of the Safety and Environmental Programs in E&P operations. 

Functions will include:

1.  Maintain the HSE Management System in E&P, including standards and procedures, incorporating new requirements, harmonizing criteria across E&P Business Units.  
2. Assist with the Business Units in developing their HSEMS, in applying it to their activities, and in setting out and implementing HSE requirements for exploration activities and for development projects. Advise in hazard assessments, incident investigations and ESIAs.
3. Provide and advice about the norms applicable in Quality, Safety and Environmental Protection.
4. Coordinate the Annual Planning Audits and Inspections.
5. Advise on the adoption of prevention and protection measures in terms of risks and cooperate on risks evaluation studies.
6. Participate in HSE E&P, corporate and industry working groups and committees, sharing ideas, criteria, looking for innovation and continuous improvement.  

The successful candidates should have:

• A degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent technical studies. 
• At least five years in HSE and in Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production, two  of them in E&P field operations. 
• Experience in implementing ISO 14001 in E&P operations; preparation of ESIAs. A successful record of improvement of safety in operations.
• Good command of French or English and a working knowledge of the other language. 
• Knowledge of Spanish will be an asset.
