repsolypf.com provides its users with an automated news headline distribution service, known as RSS.

What is RSS?

RSS files are used to create simple publication channels which can be read by special programmes (news or news headline readers). "Syndicate", or the XML or RSS icon, means that it is possible to read the news published in the portal without having to enter the page. The main advantage of this service is that users are only notified when changes have been made on the page, therefore they do not have to keep checking the page.

How is it used?

In order to use this service, it is necessary to install an appropriate news reader. There are a great variety on offer depending on the operating system used (Windows, Apple, Linux, etc.). For Windows users, the most recommended are FeedDemon and WinRSS. Apple users can install NetNewsWire and Newsmac, whereas Linux can access the RSS services by means of Straw, Evolution and Syndigator.

Once installed, it is necessary to add the address of the website from which you wish to receive news headlines (press releases, relevant events) to the favourites list of the "news reader aggregator" and then follow the specific instructions of the RSS reader which you have installed.

Should you not wish to install the programme, there is also the option of using internet-based news reader aggregators, such as, for example, Bloglines.

What kind of contents can be syndicated?

At present, you can become syndicated to press releases and relevant events. The URLs which you will need to add to your news reader aggregator are shown below:
